High employment requires work force training and coordination with Community colleges.

Manufacturing employment continues to slide, but international trade, financial services, retailing, leisure and hospitality services should offset this.

Trends -- Southern California’s economy will have slower growth, due to a slowing housing market and higher energy costs, but it will not suffer a recession
